Brat Pack

sasha” Dayum girl, look at this doll. Same complexion. Look at the lips and eyes. They’re shaped like yours and wait…they’re called Bratz?!? What’d they do? Follow you around to see how you act? And you ain’t gettin’ paid for the concept? You should sue….”

~a friend~ …which by the way, CLEARLY shows why I need to re-evaluate my support system…~

For the record, I’m REALLY not a brat (shut up real life friends :-) ). I just happen to be a tad bit *cough* spoiled overly-indulged by my loved ones (again shut up real life friends :-) ). To know me is to luh me and to luh me is to know ALL of me…and yeah, that can be a lil’ bit taxing since there are so many “me’s” to get to know. Lemme introduce them to y’all….

THE NERD/GEEK

Don’t judge me. I’ve been teacher’s pet since birth (shout out to Mama SoJo). I am the annoying information-whore…the one that refuses to accept anything less than an A, freaks out at B’s, goes into convulsions at C’s.  I try to suppress it because I know it can be annoying, but every now and then I slip off into my “Did you know…” ‘s that makes people roll their eyes. I love math, reading, spouting off random facts, scrapbooking and making crafts.

That being said, I still carry a blade in my cheek. I used to get beat up by the older kids in elementary school. Before I skipped a grade, the teachers used to send me to the upper grade levels to “set an example” for the older kids. Way to set a kid up for an ass kicking, geniuses - BRILLIANT motivational technique educators! At any rate, it helped toughen me up and develop my sense of humor. ‘Cause if I can’t joke my way out of a sticky situation, trust – I know how to slice a bytch’s earlobe and run.

THE PRINCESS

I love attention! I’m an only child and the apple of my mama’s eye. I celebrate birthdays, 1/2 birthdays and automatically expect everything to go my way. Some people call it being spoiled. I call it manifesting my own reality. :) Either way it goes, I’m blessed that my life has been charmed – even in the midst of some hellified experiences.

THE CHEERLEADER
perky
I also love to make other people happy. If a friend (or even a stranger) has a goal, a wish or a dream – I try to get behind them 100%. It might be the nurturer in me, being an educator or even just being a woman. I receive an inexplicable amount of joy from seeing others succeed. It fills my soul with contentment…

THE HERMIT
lazy
….which is odd because most time I’ont really like people. Maybe the “only child syndrome” again, but I also crave my solitude. There are times that I spend my nights and weekends alone inside my head…and I have a DAMN good time. I intentionally unplug from everything and everybody…my friends and my family included – anywhere from hours to days. Sometimes, I need to be left alone to recharge.

THE DRIFTER
reflective
During those times, I’m extremely reflective. I’m always the one searching for enlightenment – trying to find the meaning behind it all. My best conversations w/ people are those in which we’re sharing our transitional phases. It’s amazing how so many people’s journeys are linked in ways that we don’t often realize…until we get the opportunity to go beneath the surface and engage in soul exchanges.

THE SWEETHEART*
sweetheart
The one part of me that I hope everyone sees is that I’m a sweetheart. I enjoy loving and being loved. Most times when I wake up in the morning, I feel like a kid on her birthday – ready to unwrap all of the gifts that life has to offer. I love to laugh, smile and embrace life. I hope to become one of those old people that have a perpetual twinkle in their eye and a spring in their step – because they’ve never really “grown up”. They remained open, childlike and youthful in their journey through the universe. That’s the largest part of me. When people describe as being “being a doll”, like they often do, this one is the doll that I hope they most often see.

*also known as Goodness and Light, glitter sparkles and jazz hands…minus the crazed, slightly frightening “blessed and highly favored” tight smile and head tilt.  And I’m NOT just saying that because it’s OCTOBER! :)
