I suck. Really I do. I’ve sat back over the past few weeks thinking about how blessed I am to have such wonderful people in my life. And I started realizing that lately, ever since I’ve been on this replenish-my-soul-tip, I haven’t poured into my people 1/2 as much as they have poured into me.

I guess I needed a break. My energy was off kilter. I had people around me that I shouldn’t have over the last few years. But after pruning and trimming my circle during the last 6 months or so – inviting new people in, pushing old people out – I think that my circle is a healthy one. A supportive one. A spiritually grounded and uplifting one. They give, even when I don’t ask them to. And what better way than to celebrate the month of LOVE, by loving them back.

I’ve committed to doing less BBMing, less texting, less e-mailing, less tweeting. More actually picking up the phone, handwriting notes, sending thoughtful gifts/ care packages, dropping by for Sunday visits, driving a few hours to spend quality time. Time with people who have cared enough to make sure that a smile is planted on my face or that their shoulders have been broad enough for me to lean on, if needed.

It’s soooooo easy for a person like me to get caught up in the Computer Love era. A quick BBM, a cyber hug on FB, an e-mail and BAM! I feel like I’ve touched base. But really, I’m only skimming the surface. And that sucks.

So yep. I’m weaning myself off of my technology and stepping back into the real world.

Singing, “Could it be my face they seeeee….away from my computer screeeen….?” :-)
