SoJo recommends: A Simple Stress Reliever that Works

If you’ve noticed some changes in my background designs on FB and Twitter, it’s because I’m really feeling the BREATHE theme.

When I first started back blogging as SoJo, I wanted to concentrate on opening my heart, mind and spirit (which was reflected in the old design). Now that I’ve mastered that, I’m simply concentrating on BREATHING…taking everything in and showing gratitude for the “NOW”.

This meditation is a perfect one and this site is a new gem that I’ve found and visit every day.

Enjoy!

A Simple Stress Reliever that Works

“Breathe like a baby.”

When we are stressed, we often breathe from the upper chest instead of down into our lower lungs. Take note of your breathing. If your shoulders rise and fall, then you are a shallow breather. This way of breathing spells “stress.”
Lie down and place you hand on your belly. Breathe in so that you can feel your belly rise and fall. This is the way a baby breathes.

When women are pregnant, they often instinctively place their hand on their belly. It is an age-old behavior for protecting the infant within. Use the same technique to protect your own inner child. Guard the peace and serenity of your inner child as you would a real baby.

By placing your hand on your belly at regular intervals during the day you will encourage better breathing habits and release your stress.
