My name is Sojourner and this is my truth. I have always been a person that describes herself as someone on a never-ending journey to self-awareness – never a person to remain stagnant – but who.am.I?

“Truth” be told, I’m clueless. That’s why I’m here. Trying to find myself – in the privacy of my own cyber-world. Public enough to satisfy my narcism. Private enough to satisfy my craving for solitude.

Hopefully, this state of mind is temporary – as temporary as the noun “sojourn”. My name will change as my state of mind changes.

But, who am I now? The same woman that I’ve been for the same 30+ years – someone who is comfortable staying out of the limelight, yet still craving attention. Someone who continues to be the woman that people are drawn to and love, but still feels as though her emotional well is always being drawn from and never replenished.

I want to explore what it is about me that drives people away, yet pulls them close – so that I don’t continue to repeat the same cyles. I want something of my own – a life of my own – a love of my own. I want to KNOW that I deserve that – instead of ministering to other women.

I want to be whole. I want, I NEED to get to my core, my center, my place of peace. My mind, my spirit has revealed it to me, but I have no idea where to go from there. So there it is, my biggest secret.

The woman that appears to have it all together, is sometimes a mess. I want to be authentic. I want to discard my false bravado and expose something authentic – something REAL…a colored girl… who truly believes…who experiences…what it means to be beautiful.
